Eugene Lauria, a new imager in The Imaging Source community, recently sent me images taken with his DMK 21AF04.AS:

Additionally, he has very nice things to say regarding our cameras:
Mr. Berryman (that’s me, Profjohn),
Attached is an image taken with the DMK 21AF04.AS. It is an RGB image of Mars taken on December 5, at 7:28 UT from Tucson, AZ. The camera’s speed and low noise has really enhanced the image quality. It’s an amazing camera and I’m enjoying it very much! I’d have more images to share but unfortunately, it’s been rather cloudy lately…
Best Regards,
-Gene
Gene,
Don’t fret! I’m sure there will plenty of clears skies on the Arizona horizon this winter for more brilliant pix using your DMK 21AF04.AS! Here’s a few more from Arizona on Gen’s blog, http://misirlouobservatory.blogspot.com/.

Following up from the recent blog post, Shevill Mathers has just updated me:
This was a mid morning event with the sun high in the sky with the sun visible during breaks in the low level cumulus. Unfortunately, our ‘monsoonal’ weather pattern and high level cirrus this month defeated us. There was too much light scatter in the upper atmosphere, which expanded the solar disc just a minute fraction beyond the occulting cone. The sun itself was very quiet, a few small prominences were seen but definition was not the best with poor seeing conditions. This was maybe just enough to obscure the much fainter Jupiter.
All the equipment worked as planned, so technically, had the sky conditions been OK, we would have captured Jupiter maybe 1/2 degree away from the solar disc on the afternoon of the 22nd, and watched it being occulted mid morning on the 23rd.
Keep your head up, Shevill!

Efrain Morales has just sent us the following images of Mars that he recently captured:

In his e-mail, Efrain writes:
I’m submitting this photo of Mars approaching closest to earth on December 18, 2007 at 03:55.20UT. The camera did a fantastic capture once again on the planets but on this occasion it was important to capture it, next time at this close approach will be 9 years from now.
In a second e-mail, he submitted the following image:

This time, Efrain writes:
I’m submitting another session of Mars with outstanding results if it was’nt for the high altitude turbulance it would have been tops.
A big thanks goes out to Efrain for the images. Keep up the good work!
