Mike Salway: The Planets 2007 – A Pictorial

Mike Salway took the trouble of sending us a composite image, showing the best planetary images that he captured during 2007.

Accompanying his image, Mike writes:

All images were captured with my 12″ newt on EQ6, with DMK 21AF04, 5x powermate, Atik manual filter wheel and Astronomik RGB filters.

I’m disappointed I didn’t make any effort to capture Mercury or Neptune, but in 2008 I’ll definitely be doing so.

I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that 2008 will bring, especially with another great season of Jupiter coming up!

A ‘feast’ for the eyes of any keen astronomer.

Thank you for sharing the results of your expertise and patience (!) with us.

Very nice images Mike and a great testament to the quality of the DMK 21AF04. The quality of your images is also inspiration for an inexperienced (but hopeful) astrophotographer like myself. Well done.
