DMK 41AF02.AS Captures Lunar Images

Richard Galli of Nightpixels fame recently sent us some of his latest Lunar images, which he captured with his DMK 41AF02.AS astronomy camera.

The first image is of the Gassendi crater:

And the second of the Clavius crater:

He captured both images with the same equipment: DMK 41AF02.AS, TSC225 telescope and a 2x Barlow lens. He preformed post processing in Iris, using 700 singular images.

A great thanks goes out to Richard from sending in these high resolution photos!

Liked the images of craters on the moon , and the quality , but would also like information to be given on the telescope used. I have no idea what a TSC225 is , what size or who even makes it !

    Regards Colin.

The TSC225 is a Takahashi SCT approx. 8.8″ @ f12. Great photos by the way.

    Hello Colin,
The TSC225 was an old SCT mode made by Takahashi that initially sold for around $4,000 (USD). Do a Google search with “TSC225 telescope” in the search field, and you’ll get a few nice selections to read on, including a great Power Point presentation URL link of the history of SCT’s by Rod Mollise.

    Cheers,
