Jupiter Animation
In the recent Jupiter fiesta, we have received many brillian Jupiter images and animations. The next one is about the occulation of Europa and Ganymede, two Galilean moons of the giant planet. It is made by Puerto Rico astronomy amateur Efrain Morales Rivera. He also sent us an Jupiter image of the same night. Efrain took all the picture with his DMK 21AF04.AS astronomy camera.

- Jupiter’s Moons Animation
He wrote us in the email:
I’m submitting this image and animation from the 19th of august. A total of 2hrs acquired of avi’s and a total of 10gb of data recorded on the moons only of this rare event. On the still image shows at the momemt conditions were very good and then went to the moons of occulting (41%) and eclipsing ( 99%) event.
The weather started to change with jet streams and clouds because of Hur. Bill nearby at the final re-appearance of europa and finally the clouds rolled in. 48 images at 1-1.5min. intervals for this animation captured with DMK21AF04 CCD.
Thank you Efrain! Brilliant work!
