Jupiter Animations
The following Jupiter animations are from Theo Ramakers , an American astronomy amateur. He has been using DMK 21AU04.AS astronomy camera for his exploration of the night sky.

- Occultation of Europa and Io

Jupiter and its Moons
Here is what he told us in the email:
… …
While others and I have concentrated on the impact scar, or Bird’s Strike as I call it, I also have kept track of some other interesting events around Jupiter.
On August 7, I captured a mutual event sequence where the moon Europa is eclipsed by the moon Io and a few minutes later Europa is occulted by Io. Look at the animation how Europa first gets dimmer and than is eclipsed by Io In real time this was an 1/2 hour event. Images have been made with my CPC925 on a home made wedge and my DMK 21AU04.AS with a red filter.
And on august 9th, the moon Calista was transitting Jupiter. I imaged the moon and its shadow as the shadow “fell of” the planetary disk while the moon Ganymede was tracking behind the planet in its orbit as it disappeared in jupiter’s shadow before reaching the planet. Red filter image again and captured with my favorite DMK.

Good job Theo! Quite something!
