Jupiter Animation

Quote of Dimitry‘s email:

This is Jupiter rotation animation made 11 August 2009 in Moscow, Russia, in period from 00:35 till 01:49 Moscow time. 24 AVI files 3 minutes and 2700 frames each were processed in Registax 5, 500 best frames from each AVI were stacked. Further processing of each animation frame was also in Registax by wavelets and gamma correction, final alignment in animation sequence was also made in Registax, and final animated GIF was made by VirtualDub.

Equipment used: scope TAL-250K D=250mm F=2150mm, light red filter, camera – DMK 31AU03.AS, 15 frames per second. Jupiter was only from 17 to 19 degrees above horizon, so the image does not contain the very finest details available for this particular setup.

Thank you Dimitry!
