Stunning Mars Images

The Mars Images Efrain Morales sent us this week are amazing! The red planet in the night sky has become incredibly clear in his pictures. Several atmospheric and terrestrial features of Mars are visible with sharp resolution. Efrain took these pictures with his DMK 21AF04.AS astronomy camera on 21st of January.

Here is the quote of his email:

On this session I had a clear window with exceptional results with my trusty DMK 21AF04.AS. As you can see high altitude clouds (Orogrpahic) on the limbs (terminator) and Mount Olympus Mons the largest volcano in our solar system and the North Polar Hood decreasing in size as the summer soltice is approaching. Its diam. currently at 14.0 at close approach will be at 14.1. on the 27th.

Thank you Efrain! Clear Sky!

Moon

Here is the translation of his email:

I have used DMK 41AU02.AS for only a short while. On Christmas eve I was able to do some test shots with Astro-Physics 130 F6, Barlow AP x 1.7 and ultima x 2.

There was a lot of turbulence. AVI movie is composed of a thousand pictures. Image process by Avistack.

Many Thanks to William!
